Operating the Forklift: Sit-down clamp forklift operators drive counterbalance forklifts to move, locate, stack, and relocate merchandise and materials within warehouses, factories, or storage areas. They load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers, ensuring that all shipments are handled safely and efficiently

Inventory Management: Operators track inventory using Radio Frequency (RF) scanners or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ensuring accurate real-time data. They assist with cycle counts, stock rotation (FIFO), and verify orders against packing lists or bills of lading
Material Handling and Staging: They transport raw materials, work-in-process items, and finished goods to production lines, storage areas, or shipping docks. Operators prepare, stage, and secure products for shipment, including wrapping, banding, and ensuring pallet stability
Safety and Compliance: Sit-down forklift operators strictly follow OSHA regulations, company safety protocols, and standard operating procedures. They maintain clear aisles, safe speeds, proper fork positioning, and use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Reporting hazards, near misses, or equipment defects is essential
Equipment Inspection and Maintenance: Operators perform daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections, documenting any malfunctions or maintenance needs. They ensure forklifts are in safe working condition before use
Collaboration and Communication: Operators work closely with warehouse staff, production teams, and maintenance personnel to coordinate material movement, support order fulfillment, and maintain an organized work environment
Additional Duties: Depending on the facility, operators may also handle pallet building, labeling, shrink-wrapping, weighing products, and completing basic shipping or receiving documentation
